Week 6

I'm so glad that it's almost the school holidays, only two more weeks!!! In the time that I haven't been doing blog posts there has been a disco, mufti day, Murrays Bay, WIMS and the kapahaka festival.
The only ones I went to were the disco and mufti day. I would've gone to Murrays Bay but it was kinda boring last year.

Week 2

This week everyone did inter-house jump jam. There were three groups in each house, I was in group two, mangapiko. I was glad that I didn't have to do any songs that had high kicks in them because I find it very hard to do them. Esuko came back from Japan on Saturday, she's with me for three more weeks. She bought me and my brother some stuff from Japan, I got panda message notes and panda decoration tape and because my brother LOVES Japanese mayo she bought him that. She also bought some raspberry flavored Kit-Kats, I didn't really like them though. I've already finished my speech and now all I have to do is memorize it. We've almost finished area in maths and I've learnt about how to find the area of triangles, circles and trapeziums.

Week 1 Term 3

Hi, this week our school started cross country training. I'm not really good at it, but I have been noticing that I'm getting faster even though I've only just stared practicing. I started working on my student-led-conference, but I really need to write more. I started working on my speech last term and I think that it's pretty good so far. I went to the dentist and they told me that I might need braces. I'm not sure that I will get some though because my mum, brother and I are going to Australia next holidays and all of our savings have gone into that (I'm really exited). The other day me and my mum and brother were trimming our dogs fur, but because we do it our selves. and our dog hates it, it takes all of us to hold her down, tell her that she's a good girl and do the actual trimming. It was really funny to see her running around like her tail was on fire afterwards.

Week 9

This week our school had the Belmont exchange. At the disco there was a big dance off, but I didn't get to see anything because everyone else was in a tight circle around them. I did see the odd hat fly across the hall though, so it wasn't too boring. Te Awamutu one overall in the sports and lots of people were cheering and stuff. No one got to watch the actual games because it was raining, but I was going to go into the library anyway, so not much loss there. Hadlee had to give a speech about Belmont coming and competing and I think that she did pretty well considering the time she had to do it. Before the disco I made dinner and Jorja came over, I burnt the top of my mouth and some of the skin came off. I'm so glad that it's almost the end of term.

Week 8

This week the year eights my class had our last tech arts lessons in music and we where dancing. My group was Jorja and Grace, the other groups where Raiha, Justus and Xian, Hadlee, Cailyn and Rowan and also Ben, Jared, Cheng-yu and Hayden. I think that my group did pretty well (probably not the best though) because we had no dancers or really sporty people in our group.

In music this week We had Wims Music day, I had lots of fun. I ended up having a little solo but it was only three notes. Everyone else was pretty good especially the violins, and the cellos sitting in front of me.

Week 7

I wasn't at school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week so I didn't do much. I was mostly on Roblox the whole time, I completed three tycoons and survived a lot of the don't die server. On Friday I caught up a bit on adding and subtracting fractions. I found it challenging to do all of the working out and stuff. I am excited about next week because I have to hand in my science fair project and I have Wims Music Day. I've practiced a bit and I plan on practicing more.

Week 6

This week Monday was a public holiday and all day I watched mostly YouTube. My class had indoor bowls on Wednesday and I didn't do very well, but both of the Caitlin's did really well. I learnt about how much strength you have to put into the ball to get it rolling and how I almost always put too much strength into it. We also had winter sports. I did corner ball and it was really fun but The one time I got the ball the guy I was about to tag got away and I dropped the ball.

Week 5

This week I am going to properly start my science project! Also Mrs Crowe wasn't in class for all of Monday and Tuesday, Mr McCabe looked after my class. On Monday Mr McCabe talked about greed and the animals we make extinct everyday. On Tuesday we did work!

For my science project my question is 'how effective is child-proof products'. I've interviewed three kids already. One kid is six and he opened four of the five products. The next one is four and a half and she opened none of the products neither did the three year old. I took lots of photos that I'm going to put on my science board.

Week 4

This week I was sick for two days (Wednesday and Friday) and I really need to catch up on work now. At home, while I was sick I texted Rowan mostly but I also watched a lot of YouTube. My mum said that even though I was sick I still had to do jobs so I vacuumed, mum said that I did an amazing job. Then I got a fever because I didn't rest enough and I went to school on Thursday. In the weekend I went to a concert to listen to the Hamilton Gospal Choir and the Salvation army Band, it was really good but it finished at 9.30 and because I was with my dad (he lives in Auckland) I got home at 12.30, I was grumpy the next day.

Week 3

This week the band and choir students of Te Awamutu, Matamata and Cambridge Intermediate had a band camp at our school. It was on for two days. on the first day I went with Mr Stanbridge to the collage to get mattresses from the other schools to sleep on, they ended up getting very wet because the trailer was leaking and it was raining hard out. The other bands joined with ours and we started playing, I found it really fun to meet new people and play music together so well (there was even another Megan). At the end of the day the T.A.I students had to go home and I got a ride with my friend. We started again at 9.00 am the next day, we practiced Some Nights with the choir ( the band was way to loud). That night we had the concert and the drum line were sooooo good but the band and choir needed a little bit more practice to be as good.

In tech arts my class is doing music and so far I'm a beginner pro at guitar, I am also good at piano but I played that for about three years so that doesn't count. I think that some others in my class are really good too, like Rowan, Hayden, Xian and Caitlyn.

Week 2

This week I have handed in my first piece of writing for this term, it was about a tire swing I used to have. We had to write about a childhood memory (if you were wondering). My class has also started a reading task, we have to do a character description.

In band we had our last practice before the other schools come for the first band camp this year. I have to practice a lot of songs so I'm really glad that I'm not the only keyboard percussionist. My music book is completely full as well so I need to get a new one or find out if mum or my brother has one lying around.

Week 1

This week in science my class filtered salt water to make it fresh water and my groups water tasted burnt. One groups pipe melted but and they had to stop but the rest of us finished. Seeing the salt at the bottom of the flak was really cool because it kind of climbed up the side.

In band we're learning a lot of new songs for band camp. One of the songs is played with the choir so that means that I'm most likely to be singing while playing glockenspiel.

Week 11

On Wednesday room 3 and room 7 went to  Narrows Christian Camp. We were all in car groups, I was with Justice and Rowan. First we did air rifles and I think that I hit one target. The other activities, no specific order, where go carting, BMX, trolleys, archery and there was a water slide. My favorite activity was archery even though I'm really bad at it. Even though I hit two bulls eyes lots of people were better than me. I think that the reason I liked archery so much is because last time I did it the elastic rope burnt my arm and this time it didn't. I also liked the water slide a lot, it kind of looked like half a pipe leading down to a leaf filled muddy hole.

The Narrows staff got us to do two games as well, first we had to try and lift a bucket with a bottle in it out of the middle of a circle without going in, my group didn't finish it in time so we had to go on to the next one. The next one was a similar game we weren't aloud to touch the ground to a certain point and then then there was another area that we couldn't touch before we where safe. We had to be touching some blocks that we where given at all times until we got to the safe areas. After some trial and errors we finally came up with the idea of tying the block to our shoes with our shoe laces, I piggy backed a few people over and most of the others just hopped.

I was glad when we got back to Te Awamutu because I was so tired that I felt sick.

Week 10

This week I learnt a couple of new songs. They are 25 or 6 to 4 and Mamma Mia. I think that 25 or 6 to 4 is a really odd name for a song. In choir I am learning a song called glorious, it's a really pretty song and the we watched the you tube video five times!

In tech arts I've made soap and learned all about molecules, atoms and particles. I've also made a kind of play-dough substance, mine is blue. We had a competition on who could make, for example, a tractor or a cat with it. It was really fun.

Week 8 and Week 9

It turns out that there is a xylophone player for this year. I'm so glad I'm not by my self. She seems really good she told me that she plays piano and she used to play the drums. Also in band we are learning even more cool songs! We're playing Some Nights and Surfin' USA.

Today the school had the third sports event for this year, I did outdoor bowls. I hope Mangapiko wins this time because we don't win enough. My team won three out of four of our games which I think is very good and one of my friends won four out of four of her games. This afternoon there is a disco on at school and I'm really exited! I'm going to be wearing a blue t-shirt and blue shorts, a blue scarf, blue earmuffs, blue earings, a blue necklace and I'm going to chalk my hair blue, so I'm pretty much going all out.

Week 7

This week, in jazz band, we learned a new song called Hound Dog and Mr Stanbridge did a very good impression of the singer. I also listened to the junior band for a bit and they are really good, unfortunately there wasn't a xylophonist there so I'm going to be playing all by my self this year unless the xylophonist wasn't there.

On Friday my class had our first science lesson for the year. We drew diagrams and did some little taste tests to find out what was sweet, salty, sour, bitter, bland or spicy. They made me feel really sick and I nearly puked, so Mrs Tyson told me to go and get a drink of water luckily it was almost lunch so I could eat something, that took away the bad taste in my mouth.

Week 6

This week the Japanese students came to New Zealand and I got a girl called Maho. I think that she has all ready had a heap of fun because she seems really happy. So far we have gone and played cricket, tennis and we have gone to the Hamilton music festival.

On Friday my friends and I all played a game of fish but them because there were Japanese students playing around 20 people started to play so we just threw the ball around, it was really fun.

Week 5

This week we  had swimming sports. I came 1st in one event, it was doggy paddle. In most of the other races I came about 5th. The only bad thing that day was that we weren't allowed to have lunch swimming. I normally do flips and races with my friends so I was really looking forward to lunch.

Also Mika the Japanese teacher is going back to Japan on Saturday, it's really sad for me because she stayed at my house basically the whole time she was here. I think what I will miss most is the sushi that she made because it was really nice and she put in a heap of things I hadn't tried before in them like egg made into a egg stick and cucumber. She introduced to me a lot of interesting flavors and ingredients that I might be able to use to make delicious food one day.

Week 4

Last week my class went on the museum trip, we got to do role play and I was the only female Maori chief. I did PAT spelling too.

Week 3

This week I have finished my dream board and my class have done a lot of tests, we've done math tests, grammar tests, reading tests and a PAT vocab test. For Friday sports I am in theater sports. Yay!

Dream Board

This is what is now on the back of my dream board, hopefully it explains most of what is on my board( :

At the top left of my dream board is my past: Christmas, Hamilton, horse riding with my mum and brother and me and my gran and some of my cousins. Towards the bottom there is the word love with a love heart because I always used to draw love hearts on EVERYTHING!! Below that are my past animals and my animals that I currently have (just below the love heart). In the middle is some random stuff like the quote, the word hope, a picture of a baby and a music related picture because I love listening to music. Next to that is half what I want in my future and half my present. I have a picture of a horse and a goat doing teamwork together under that is a heap of words. Next is my name, a cross and Keep calm and rescue animals quote. In the top right there is a picture of a kitten with a broken leg showing that I want to help animals. Next to that I want to maybe work in a zoo or pretty much anything that includes animals. Below that is a picture of me and some of my friends at a birthday. Lastly there are some quotes, my dream house (definitely has to have a pool!) and I want to work with animals with a picture of a cat and dog.

Week 2

Last week on Thursday I went to the band evening and played glockenspiel. It was really fun because last years students came back like my brother, Oksana and Bert. Unfortunately Amelia didn't come back so I was playing all alone ):

In tech arts the year eights are doing wood and we are making speakers and phone holders. I've nearly finished the box of my speaker but I need to put the front and back on.

Week 1 2016

Welcome back to my blog. This week I auditioned for choir and had my first band practice for this year, yay.
